VERSE 1 We were ruined in our sin We were chasing gods we'd made with our own hands Abandoning Your Word to live out our futile plans Then You stepped in and gave us hearts of flesh in place of stone To show the world that You are God alone CHORUS You gave us a new heart, a new heart Not for us but for the glory of Your Name So that the world might know that You alone are the Lord You have blessed us so that we might do the same For Your name VERSE 2 You have washed away our sins You have saved us; Your Spirit's in our hearts Your wrath is gone; we are purified and set apart We will be Your people and You will be our God And forever we will sing BRIDGE You took our sin upon Yourself Jesus, You have given us righteousness for our guilt and shame Now we are ransomed by Your blood, blood that gives us life And we'll live to spread the glory of Your name
2.
VERSE 1 Set apart as salt and light To heal the wounds and break the night But are we bringing a change Or are we merely blending in? Are we salt without its flavor Good for trampling in the ground? Are we light beneath a bushel With no plans of coming out? CHORUS We are the light of the world So let your light shine That all the world may see That all the world may glorify The One who came to set them free VERSE 2 Our faith is not just for us It's for those who have not heard But how will they ever hear If we never say the Word? Has our faith really changed us If it never leaves our mouth? If it never shows itself In good deeds somehow? Salvation working out BRIDGE And where you lead, God, we will go We will follow You, we will follow You At any cost so the world may know You're the way The life, You're the truth For You have called from every nation Every tribe, and every tongue And we've been called to spread Your fame Till every praise to You is sung So let us go while fields are white While hearts are open to Your voice, O, God Let us declare Your greatness Till Your work on earth is done When all You've called are won

VERSE 1 We were under the curse of death We were helpless to pay our debt We were children of wrath and shame Then in the fullness of time You came for us To take away all sin's claim on us You ransomed and freed our hearts PRE-CHORUS Now sons and heirs of grace We offer up our praise CHORUS You gave Yourself for our sins that You might rescue us That You might save us from this world Taking our place You died; now we stand justified To You be the glory forevermore VERSE 2 Oh God, how quickly we can forget The source of all of our righteousness Is You and not what we've done So let our boast be only in Your cross And let our hearts count everything else loss Compared to knowing You, our God BRIDGE You came here to save us from what had enslaved us Thinking we could save ourselves Bind our wandering hearts to You; there's nothing we can do In You it's all been done
4.
VERSE 1 What is a vow these days? It's nothing but words to be given and taken right back We're wed at an altar, but there's no sacrifice Just players performing an act PRE-CHORUS 1 So we leave and cleave and leave again and tear the flesh in two As if covenants with God and man are things we can undo CHORUS What if Christ suddenly said, "I've had enough; this is the end; I take back my love For being unfair, for running around Betraying my trust, and letting me down" But Christ didn't lay a cross on His back To show us a love with strings attached If love's understood by looking to Christ Then love is a sacrifice VERSE 2 Wives have you given up submitting yourselves Like the church submits to Christ? Men have you no desire to lay down your lives Just as Christ did for His bride? PRE-CHORUS 2 We're so comfortable with "comfort first" we barely bat an eye When the selfishness within the church looks just like that outside BRIDGE Marriage is meant to display the love we've been shown By Christ who would die to make us His own Denying Himself, He put his love first To make us holy, blameless, and pure If Christ would die for His unfaithful bride And no matter what, He'd stay by her side If true love is marked by laying down your life for someone else Then how can we leave our love just to please ourselves?
5.
VERSE 1 You were there before the world began You spoke the word and breathed your life in man Foolish, we ran from You Out of Your will but not out of Your view CHORUS You are a wonderful, merciful God And You came to us when we were far from You You sent Your Son for us Perfect in life to do what we could not do Taking our sin and dying our death on a cross You rose again as the hope for the lost VERSE 2 Now we're on the other side of grace Tempted to forget what those will face Who never heard of You Who left this earth and never knew that... BRIDGE So may our mouths say the words that You want us to say May our hands and feet move as You will As we carry Your name to the ends of the earth And hear Your praise grow louder still
